Berardo Collection Museum

The presentation of the Berardo Collection Museum offers an overview of creating art in the twentieth century and the beginning of XXI century, particularly in European and American art.
Reflects the wealth of history, the styles, origins and techniques of the works of the collection. Even though we tried to draw a historical perspective and style around big concepts such as abstraction, figuration to the Surrealism, to Pop Art, the Hyper-Realism, art Minimalist, the Conceptual Art, sculpture, installation, contemporary photography and video, was also inside a transverse view through the views and ideas available on the various influences of the works.

The visit to the Museum is also a journey through the artistic creation Portuguese modern and contemporary, focusing on improving their originality and their place in the international arena.

Some products were designed specifically for the museum. This selection is also the portrait and the look of a collector, José Berardo (born 1944), he chose, and has put together a collection of works belonging to the primary artistic heritage worldwide.

The Berardo Collection Museum is managed by a new foundation, created by the Portuguese government, the Centro Cultural de Belém and family Berardo.
